LINKING HOUSE AND GARDEN
>> Continued from Page
One
The
first step is to thoroughly research the architectural style of the
home and to create the design based on that style. Too often houses
are at war with their setting because the styles of the building
and the landscape are so dissimilar. We rely as much as possible
on the architecture of the house to inspire our gardens. Plant material,
masonry, and architectural features are selected based on that research.
Each garden that is installed is completely different from the next,
giving each property a special uniqueness.
Good teamwork becomes very important in linking house and garden
as well. Our success in garden design relies on working closely with
the architect, the builder, the interior designer or the contractor.
When all are kept in the loop, the outcome is a strong cohesive design.
TO HONOR THE PATH
Our
goal is to honor the direction, desires and wishes of each client.
We ask the owners what they want to do in each outdoor space, whether
the like an untamed, natural look or whether they feel more comfortable
in a swept, tidy space paved and edged with stone. Investigating
the client’s personal style is an essential part of establishing
the program.
We strive to listen carefully to what you wish to create and not
interject our own ego. Once this is carefully determined we can then
start the design process based on your lifestyle..
